Smokey was born around May 25th to a lovely
Shepherd mix mommy & a ???? daddy, perhaps a Boxer mix?
Smokey is super friendly....he is a happy, playful, bouncy
little guy who is going to make a fun & loving family pet.

Dixie

Dixie is a 2 year old, 25 pound adorable little mixed doggie,
probably with a bit of Beagle (but she doesn't howl)  &
something else really cute.  Dixie could be described as
the happiest dog in the world..........she loves life & everyone
she meets!  She would make a fabulous family dog!  She loves to romp & play, and would enjoy having an active family to have fun with.
Dixie gets along good with other dogs!

Hannah

Hannah is a purebred red Doberman & was born October 2006.
She is a beautiful girl who needs a family to call her own.
Hannah gets along great with other dogs, but would prefer a home
without small children.

Moe

Moe is a 2 year old, whimsical little boy who got his name because
he has an adorable natural mohawk, kind of like Tweety Bird's
curl!  Just too cute!  Moe is a friendly little guy who attaches
himself very quickly to his special person.  He gets along great
with other dogs, but would prefer a home without a kitty cat.

Minnie

This cute little girl is a 10 month AKC registered Min-Pin who
was purchased from a pet store by a good samaritan who felt
sorry for her.  Minnie is one happy Min-Pin who loves
everyone she comes in contact with, including other dogs.
She adores being around people!

Lovely Lily

Lilly is a 1 year old Maltese mixed with something else that is long legged, although we aren't sure what!  She has a very happy personality, and gets along good with other dogs & doesn't pay any attention to kitty cats. She loves to go for car rides & is crate trained.  Lily is a playful little girl who loves people!

Betty Boop!

The smile on this gals face says it all!  She is one of the happiest,
friendliest dogs we have met!  She came to us matted & dirty,
so off to the beauty parlor she went........and off came the hair!
She has a soft silky coat, but she seems to be enjoying her
new summer hairdo!  Betty is around 4 years old &
weighs about 25 pounds.  She is long & lean, just like
 a fashion model!  A great all-around doggie!

Murphy

Murphy is a 1 year old, 15 pound shy little boy who would love a
quiet home.  He is quite the ladies man, preferring women over men,
so a single or retired lady would be the ultimate companion for this
cute little boy.  He would do very well in a home with another
dogs & he doesn't mind kitty cats.

April

April is a 10 month old Shepherd-Lab mix.  She is a happy, playful girl, and gets along well with other dogs.  She loves to snuggle on the couch.  April walks well on leash and knows how to sit, and will
no doubt excel if further obedience training!  She is extremely
smart & eager to learn.  She loves to go for walks & is great on a leash!As you can see from the photos, she loves
the water, so if you are looking for a pool or beach buddy, April
is the gal for you!  April has been with us since she was 3 months old,
overlooked because she isn't tiny & cute, or large & a purebreed.
April is a fun girl who so deserves a home to call her own!

Mindy

Mindy was a great mom to her babies, but now they are all gone
and this cute gal needs a home to call her own.  Mindy is about
16 months old & weighs around 13 pounds (she looks big in the photos, but she's not).  Mindy gets along good with other dogs, although she would do just fine being the only canine in the casa.  She is very well-mannered & loves to snuggle under the covers with you at night.

Fiona

Fiona is a 2 year old Lhasa mix who weighs about 18 pounds.
She is a sweet gal who needs a home to call her own.  She was
severely matted, so she had to be shaved down, which is a perfect
hairdo for the hot weather we have been having.  She gets along
great with other dogs, but is a bit too curious about kitty cats, so
a feline-free home would be best for her, unless you are willing
to work on creating harmony.  Fiona is a great gal with a very
happy nature.

Rosie

Rosie has had a rough time, but now her misery is over &
she is looking for a home to call her own.  Rosie came to
us pregnant & gave birth prematurely to 2 tiny babies on May 3rd, but
both were born with severe cleft palates & neither survived.
  She is a real sweetheart,
loveable, energetic, and playful.  She gets along good with other
dogs, but is the alpha & doesn't like bossy dogs.
Rosie is about 2 years old & 15 pounds.

Zach

Zach is a 6 year old adorable Spaniel mix who needs a home to call his own. He has beautiful soft black hair with cute white accents, and he has the sweet personality to match his good looks. He gets along good with kids, other dogs, cats, and is housebroken!

Charlie

This little boy really pulled at our heartstrings.
Dumped in the shelter, matted to the bone, Charlie
SHOULD have long flowing hair, but it had to be shaved.
Charlie is about 5 years old & appears to be a Lhasa Apso - Basset mix, with crystal clear blue eyes.........a very unusual
combination.  He is also hearing impaired, which means
he WON'T be barking at every single noise like some dogs do.
Charlie is very low-keyed & mellow, a perfect companion pet.
Charlie is what we refer to as bomb-proof........nothing
bothers him!
He is around 35 pounds

Odessa

Odessa is a 1 year old gal who has had a rough life, yet she
is very forgiving.  She came to us extremely thin & dirty,
yet not at all scared or bitter.  She loves life, and anything &
everything it has to offer, whether it be human hugs, feline fun,
or canine companionship.  She is crate trained & loves to go for car rides, so you can take her anywhere with you!  Odessa is
NOT a barker!
She is a great little gal who is
going to make a wonderful pet for a lucky family.

Jade

This little 3 yr old Chihuahua mix has found herself in the cold
shelter, very scared & very pregnant.  At some point in
her life, this little girl has been extremely abused, but now that
she has been rescued & is in a foster home, she is
starting to come out of her shell & realize there
are nice people in this world who love & care about
her.  She gave birth on November 1st to 2 darling baby
girls.  Both have been adopted & now Jade is looking for
a home to call her own.  She's a real lover, gets along
fabulous with other dogs & kitty cats!  She is very
submissive & sweet.

Lola is a sweet little Chihuahua mix who found herself fully
pregnant & abandoned in the scary shelter.  We got her out &
she gave birth to 5 babies on April 12th in a warm, comfy foster
home.  All of her babies are doing well & Lola is taking good
care of them.

Dixie and her Dumplings

We didn't think we were going to be able to save this
family, but a fabulous foster home magically appeared &
everyone is now safely out of the shelter!  Look how
happy Dixie is to be free!
Dixie is a very sweet 25 pound lovely mix & her 8 little
babies look like Chiggles (Chihuahua-Beagles).
We are guessing they were born around June 17th.

Coco & Cuties

Sweet little Coco was abandoned in the shelter along
with her 4 precious little babies.  Luckily, a foster home
stepped up & we were able to rescue them immediately.  Coco
is a darling little lady & is being a very good mommy to her
babies, which we are guessing were born around June 20th.

These babies ended up in the shelter with an extremely emaciated
mommy who was no longer able to take care of them.  The babies
were basically taking everything they needed from her & leaving
her with nothing.  Mommy was a lovely, petite German Shepherd
mix & we have no clue about daddy.   They are precious little
puppies & unless they have some amazing growth spurt, they
aren't going to be very big dogs at all.........probably in the
40-45 pound range.  We are guessing they were born
around July 7th.

and we got them soon after.  She is taking excellent care of her

Jenna & her Jelly Beans

Sweet Jenna came to us from a very high kill LA Shelter,
where she gave birth on July 24th to 6 little girls & 1 boy.
Poor Jenna arrived emaciated , covered in flea dirt & gunk!
She has had a nice bath (soak!), now she is clean & comfortable,
eating well & taking good care of her babies.

August 1st update
Jenna is very ill with pneumonia, so she is under
medical care & her babies are being bottle fed.

August 13th
Jenna has responded very well to medical care &
seems to be on the road to recovery.  Her cough is lingering,
but her congestion is much better & her appetite has come back!
Sadly, one of her puppies passed away on August 8th & another
one on August 15th, but the remaining 5 are thriving &
Jenna is making a fabulous recovery!

We got a call from the shelter saying someone had
just dumped this beautiful little lady & her 7
beautiful newborn babies.  Josie is such a wonderful
dog, with a very sweet disposition & lovely manners!
The pups were born around August 9th & there are
6 little girls & 1 little boy!  Josie is a 2 year old, 30 pound
Flat Coated Retriever - Spaniel mix.

This little girl came very close to slipping through the cracks
of the shelter system.  One of the shelter employees noticed that
her tummy was getting bigger, so she checked the computer notes
& found that this mommy-to-be was already on the euthanasia list!  
She took the dog out of the computer system.......and whisked her out of the shelter, taking her home for the night & meeting up with us the next day!  
Whew!
